Day 1 Goals
- Make people feel welcome and oriented
- Set cultural expectations
- Introduce the cohort structure
- Reveal the theme
- Activate participation immediately
Pre-Session Prep (Before the Call)
Logistics
- Session scheduled (calendar + Discord pinned)
- Video link tested (Zoom / Meet)
- Recording enabled (if applicable)
- Co-host assigned (timekeeping, chat, notes)

- Info Session / Cohort Overview deck

Mental Prep
- Rehearse your personal intro (model vulnerability)
- Decide how strict you’ll be on time
- Identify 1-2 culture points to emphasize
- Remember: you set the vibe
Opening the Session (First 5-10 Minutes)
- Start on time
- Welcome everyone warmly
- Thank them for showing up
- Acknowledge time zones and energy levels
- Explain the flow of the session
- State clearly: this is not a hackathon
Participant Introductions
- Share the intro template
- Model your own intro first
- Keep answers short (gently cut long ones)
- Call out interesting overlaps or themes
- Encourage curiosity, not comparison
DM tip: This is about people, not credentials.
Culture & Expectations
- Explain what a DAO is (high level)
- Emphasize decentralization as a spectrum
- Explain RaidGuild’s stake -> shares -> governance model
- Highlight agency and self-direction
- Introduce the Code of Conduct pillars
- Frame RG as collaborative, fluid, and sometimes challenging
Optional:
- Mention Moloch / coordination failure
- Share links for deeper reading (don’t dwell)
Theme Reveal
- Explain why the theme was chosen
- Reveal the theme clearly
- Share 1-2 example ideas
- Share 1 wild or speculative idea
- Encourage curiosity, not pressure
Calls to Action (End of Session)
Make the next steps extremely clear.
- Ask everyone to:
- Drop an intro in chat (if not done live)
- Fill out their profile in the portal
- Select skills / roles for this cohort
Other stuff:
- Share relevant links in chat
- Explain what happens on Day 2 (Raider Showcase)
- Share schedule for the rest of Week 1
Time Capsule Prompt
- Ask the reflection question
- Explain it will be revisited at cohort retro
- Collect responses (form / chat / portal)
Close the Session
- Thank everyone for showing up
- Re-emphasize excitement and openness
- Invite questions async
- End on a positive, forward-looking note
Post-Session Follow-Up (Same Day)
- Post recap message in Discord
- Share recording (if applicable)
- Re-share CTAs and links
- Skim chat for unanswered questions
